Chelsey and Jo had a sweet little courthouse wedding with their immediate family. I absolutely loved the little denim jacket that she wore over her short white dress. They were looking to have some outdoorsy photos for their formals and it had to have easy access for the grooms mum. I immediately knew where we had to go! This ticked all of their boxes and kept us on schedule. Sudbury is the best for finding wild looking places within the city. Everywhere you turn there is a lake or a forest. Look at this little slice of heaven 5 minutes from the restaurant they were going to for their first meal as a married couple.
Annie and Kevin came to me to book a couples session. It was going to be an anniversary present from Kevin to Annie. He booked everything for her, hair, make up and then a party afterwards. I thought that it was such a sweet gift. As it turned out he decided to do it for her because she hadn’t liked any of there wedding photos. Everytime I hear someone say that they didn’t like their wedding photos it breaks my heart. Yet it is probably the thing I hear most often from people about their wedding. “It was great but I wish I had better photos”
I asked them if there was somewhere special to them somewhere that they had in mind for their photos. They immediately came to the conclusion that the Donovan was the place for them, so we ran with it!
I had so much fun with these guys, Annie’s sarcasm and Kevin’s self deprecating humour had us all in stitches for the entirety of the session. We found a little slice of nature in the city and then went on to fully utilize the cool feel of the Donvan.
I love getting to photograph modern editorial style headshots, So when Tiffany was looking for to have headshots done for the Miss Northern Ontario Pageant I was excited to be creative and come up with some beautiful portraits that represent her beauty in a contemporary way.
These style shoots are great for actors, models and even for personal branding pictures for you to use on your website. Here are a few of my favorite Photos from that session.
This is Lynzy’s second child, I photographed the birth of her first born Lochlan his was the very first birth I had the pleasure of attending and Photographing. So when Lynzy found out she was pregnant again it was a given that she would have me document little Isla’s birth as well. Its always magical and awe inspiring to be there when a new baby enters the world. All at once 9 months of waiting comes to an end, All of the pain, sweat and tears of labour come to a crescendo of euphoria as a mother sees her baby for the first time. Birth is one of the most empowering things a woman can experience. Its a way of discovering things about your body and your mind you never thought possible.
Ariel and Brandon are such a goofy fun loving couple. They are so much fun to work with. Ariel has an infectious laugh and isn't afraid to be silly. Even though Brandon tries to resist her antics even he cracks and starts laughing along. We had a blast shooting this session, there were a ton of jokes and sarcastic remarks which is a perfect fit for my sense of humor.
Ariel used to be a competitive skater so she really wanted to incorporate winter and skating. We had a relatively strange winter the skate path was only open for a few weeks and we couldn't make that work so by the time we could schedule their engagement session it was a rainy day and we knew that this was spring this was going to be it. No more chance for snowy pictures. Little did we know we would still have snow in April! Because of the rain and the snow melting it created this ethereal thick fog that I was dying to shoot it. Here is Ariel and Brandon's Foggy outdoor winter engagement session.
Every birth is different and magical watching a new life begin is awe inspiring !
To witness something so beautiful and to be able to share those moments with the family is an incredible honour. That’s why I was so excited when Lindsay had me photograph the birth of her first child. It was a snowy afternoon when Laila Ray decided to enter this world.Lindsay was handling labour like a champ she was so calm about the birth she even remembered to pack a beautiful blanked to use during labour and was even applying makeup and doing her hair shortly after she gave birth. Nothing slows this girl down :)
This is what Lindsay had to say about the experience
“She’s my photographer for life. She’s been there to capture all my precious moments dear to my heart; through my engagement, to my wedding, to the birth of our Laila. On top of that, she captured them beautifully. By far my favourite were these raw images that I can look back on for years to come because after all, it was my favourite day in the world”
Cynthia and Jason's Wedding took place in Sudbury Ontario. It was a beautiful Fuchsia and black themed affair.
We did a mix of urban and park like photos for these two. Then we were off to the Reception.Where the traditional French Canadian Sock dance took place. Now I admit when I first moved to Sudbury this was new and strange thing to me lol so I will explain the tradition for those of you that are as lost as I was. This is where the unmarried older sibling has to wear the ugliest pair of socks known to man and dance in front of all of the guests who then throw money onto the floor for the new couple. For a more in depth description here is a link. There are even video’s of this on you tube go check it out.
This past weekend I was part of the Sudbury Living Bridal Showcase. I love getting out and meeting so many brides and grooms that are planning their weddings. Its always great to see what the newest trends are and to check out some of the amazing food offered by wedding venues.
It was awesome to meet you all and best of luck in planning your upcoming weddings. I hope that you found a ton of inspiration and crossed some things off of your to do list!
People in the North Love the snow and winter. These two true Northerners were no different. Kathleen and Blaine love the winter, its their favorite time of the year. They wanted to incorporate winter into their Engagement session. I took them for a little walk down a path in the bush to do some of the shots. I got them all set and was ready to take a photo as I was backing up to get the perfect shot I stepped off of the path and sunk up to my waist in the snow. lol They were laughing, I was laughing, the look on my face must have been priceless. The snow filled my boots it even went down the back of my pants. I was freezing but you can't help but laugh when these things happen. lolI had to pass my camera to Blaine while I tried to wriggle myself free of the snow trying to ensure I didn't lose a boot in the process. Each step I took towards the trail I sunk in again, filling my clothing with fresh cold snow until I finally reached the packed trail. Clumsily, half crawling half rolling I manged to mount the summit that was the trail. I was laughing uncontrollably at this point as were they. Luckily this happened at the end of the session so we could all head inside to warm up. But enough laughing at me for now, here are a few of the beautiful winter engagement photos we captured that day.
This is Graham, This is his Newborn Session. His Parents purchased my Baby’s First Year Program so I will be photographing him 3 times in his first year. I did the same for his older brother Fletcher. Nothing like capturing the entire first year and compiling a beautiful album full of memories at the end of the year. We know how precious that first year is, A baby changes so fast and you will want to keep a record of all of those changes and that’s why I developed the Babies First Year Package. I go to the client’s home and do all of the photography right there. It keeps it simple for new moms because they don’t have to pack up and carry all of that new Baby gear. They are at home so they have everything they could need and it helps to keep everyone more relaxed making for a more enjoyable Photo Session.
Relaxed parents make for a relaxed Baby, Relaxed baby makes for those sweet sleepy pictures that everyone loves.

Cynthia and Jason are getting married this summer, they are a cute couple that are always smiling We went to a small park where there is a small creek. As we approached the rocks along the creek we were greeted with a great slap on the water. There was a beaver pulling along a large branch and he wasn’t happy to see us LOL. The fact that Im from southern Ontario I was totally in awe, I have never seen a beaver so close. We all had a laugh about how fascinated I was by this little experience. It made for a great icebreaker to keep everything upbeat and fun. Here are a few shots from their Engagement Session.
