Summer Family Photography session in Azilda OntarioRead More
The time is almost here and I’m getting so excited! If you’ve never been to CPC let me tell you it is a total gamechanger. It turned my business around after the first time I went. It’s totally business focussed with a big dash of inspiration. It is also a fabulous community to be a part of, so many supportive photographers all willing to talk and help each other out. You build lifelong friendships at these events. Im lucky enough to be speaking along side a group of amazingly talented photographers at this years Convention. Now i get to return the favour and hopefully help another photographer turn their business around or inspire them to keep growing their business. Here is a bit about my talk and I hope to see you there.

Taking the Terror out of in person sales.
Your work is good right? So why is it so hard to sit across from your clients when it comes to selling your images? The art of selling is pretty simple, I'll share them with you in this talk.
I'll be walking you through my sales process and talk to you about
How to overcome your fear of selling How to deal with your fear of being judged How to get started selling
I hope to take you from feeling like you're standing naked in front of a bunch of church ladies to feeling like Steve Jobs when he says "and there's one more thing..."
I love getting to photograph modern editorial style headshots, So when Tiffany was looking for to have headshots done for the Miss Northern Ontario Pageant I was excited to be creative and come up with some beautiful portraits that represent her beauty in a contemporary way.
These style shoots are great for actors, models and even for personal branding pictures for you to use on your website. Here are a few of my favorite Photos from that session.
This is Lynzy’s second child, I photographed the birth of her first born Lochlan his was the very first birth I had the pleasure of attending and Photographing. So when Lynzy found out she was pregnant again it was a given that she would have me document little Isla’s birth as well. Its always magical and awe inspiring to be there when a new baby enters the world. All at once 9 months of waiting comes to an end, All of the pain, sweat and tears of labour come to a crescendo of euphoria as a mother sees her baby for the first time. Birth is one of the most empowering things a woman can experience. Its a way of discovering things about your body and your mind you never thought possible.
Ariel and Brandon are such a goofy fun loving couple. They are so much fun to work with. Ariel has an infectious laugh and isn't afraid to be silly. Even though Brandon tries to resist her antics even he cracks and starts laughing along. We had a blast shooting this session, there were a ton of jokes and sarcastic remarks which is a perfect fit for my sense of humor.
Ariel used to be a competitive skater so she really wanted to incorporate winter and skating. We had a relatively strange winter the skate path was only open for a few weeks and we couldn't make that work so by the time we could schedule their engagement session it was a rainy day and we knew that this was spring this was going to be it. No more chance for snowy pictures. Little did we know we would still have snow in April! Because of the rain and the snow melting it created this ethereal thick fog that I was dying to shoot it. Here is Ariel and Brandon's Foggy outdoor winter engagement session.
This winter took a long time to arrive but once it did, there was snow everywhere.
There hadnt been much snow when Danielle booked her lifestyle Maternity Session, but when the day arrived we had a full on blizzard. As much as I hate driving in that much snow it makes for a beautiful backdrop for photos! I think I was more excited about this shoot than Danielle was when I saw all of the beautiful fluffy snow hanging on all of the tree branches and to top it off is was relatively warm. So we got all the beauty of winter without the bite. Here are a few shots from their Snowy outdoor Maternity Session.
I traveled to Manitoulin Island to Wikwemikong first Nations Reservation to photograph this Wedding. The Island is always so beautiful I feel like the light there is different from anywhere else I’ve ever been.
Amanda & Shevon’s Wedding ceremony was held in the ruins of an old school they had Native drummers as well as a steel drum player. It was a cool fusion of cultures. My favorite part of the ceremony was that the groom didn’t hold back any of his happiness his face shows his happiness loud and clear.
After the ceremony their reception was held at the Manitoulin Convention center. They opened the celebration with a traditional native dancer, dancing to the beat of the drums and singing. It was truly an experience. The drums have an incredible way of touching your soul and making you feel that you are truly part of something bigger. I am honored to experience traditions like this.
Lynzy is one of those women that loves fashion, and always looks fabulous. Hair and make-up is always done and she’s always dressed to perfection. That of course is why she was a perfect fit for one of my Glamour Maternity Sessions.
These shoots are designed to give you the star treatment! Hair and make-up is included and your images look like something that will grace the pages of magazines like Vanity Fair or Vogue. I LOVE these type of portrait sessions!
Here are a few shots from Lynzy's Glamorous Portrait session.
This past weekend I was part of the Sudbury Living Bridal Showcase. I love getting out and meeting so many brides and grooms that are planning their weddings. Its always great to see what the newest trends are and to check out some of the amazing food offered by wedding venues.
It was awesome to meet you all and best of luck in planning your upcoming weddings. I hope that you found a ton of inspiration and crossed some things off of your to do list!
I had a fabulous time with Jess and Mike while doing this session. Even though the weather was 5 degrees and raining we still had a ton of fun. The Brick Works is such a cool location for photos there are so many different looks in one location.
I love shooting in new places it always heightens my creativity. I thought I would try something a new with this couple, so I incorporated a little Video of them and made a little fusion slideshow. Here is the reveal of my first fusion engagement shoot.
Let me know what you think of it down in the comments section.
Glamorous Tim Burton Inspired Winter Wedding – Sudbury Ontario Wedding
This was an awesome Wedding it was completely unique. They had a Tim Burton influenced Winter Theme. They had 6 ft tall sculptures from the movie Corpse Bride and a White Rabbit showing the way to the reception. There were gorgeous snowflakes and skulls everywhere. The Bouquets were HUGE! The overall look was as beautiful and quirky as any Tim Burton landscape.
All of the flowers and details were the fabulous work of Apple Cart Collectables if you get a chance pop over and check out her stuff. There were delicious gluten free vegan desserts made by Jess Nadel at OH MY and the awesome food and Venue were all the work of Respect is Burning in downtown Sudbury. This couple were fantastic to photograph they totally incorporated their vision into their special day. Here are a few shots from their cool Wedding
I am trying a more glamorous way of photographing the beauty of Pregnant Women. It is such a beautiful time in a woman’s life. You are growing a new person inside of you. A person who will grow up to have their own voice, thoughts and feelings. You have such a bond to this helpless little being that depends on you for everything to survive. You are their protector, nurturer, teacher and most importantly their mummy. Our Children will cherish the images of their mothers forever. When you take that beauty and try to incorporate all of that anticipation, hope, and excitement and most importantly love into an image this in my opinion, is what you come up with and why we as mothers NEED to exist in photographs for our children.
Here are a few Photographs from Carole’s Maternity Portrait Session.
