I don’t do many personal posts about my family but I thought it was about time to share a little of my actual life. My husband is originally from England and his family still lives there so we travel back often. I absolutely love England, Its one of those places you go and you immediately feel at home. It’s a place that has so much history, which is something that I absolutely Love. My son gets to see his Grandma about once a year, so hanging out in her flat visiting is our priority. We do everyday things like shopping and going to the Pub. Darius LOVES the pub apparently the chips are pretty good at the Oatlands Chaser.
This is the first year that our son Darius has been old enough to actually venture out with us for a full day. We went to Hampton court palace one day. It is one of only two surviving palaces out of the many owned by King Henry VIII. They even filmed the other Boleyn girl there, as well as many other Period dramas. I have visited here at least 4 times now in different seasons. The gardens are Amazing but not so much in November.
We also spent a day in London, We visited Trafalgar square and the National Portrait Gallery. Darius was totally taken with the portraits of the Queen. He really liked the The Queen in the White Drawing Room at Buckingham Palace in 2007. By Annie Leibovitz see it here That kids got good taste! LOL I told him the story of how the portrait was made, the story is in the book Annie Leibovitz at work. I ended up with about 15 people gathered around listening to me talk about the portrait like I was a tour guide, lol too funny.
After the National Portrait Gallery we went for a Walk along the South Bank in the evening. It certainly was an eye full for Darius. As you can tell by the photos he was getting pretty tired near the end.
